Cardboard Condo

The sole Minnesota granddaughter got her 1-to 1 evening with Nana when the two of them created a palatial cardboard abode for a favorite doll or princess.

Wealth does not dictate good looks

Moor Buns

Hil made a comment once that her food never looked good enough to photograph. She was too hard on herself, because this is my shot of her Christmas Day fresh hot caramel rolls overflowing temptingly from the pan. Yum Nicely done MizMor!

Let's Do Vivi Chili wearing apron made by Nana's brother Scott

Vivi did a very nice thing for me the other day......prepped several batches of chili for me to help a little with, and then take home as hot meals for Nana and me to pull from the freezer for days to come. Some red chili, some white. Preference? Not me; like both!

MN Zoo bears

The FarmFamilies and I have had some wonderful zoo visits, since they began including me once I retired. A recent highlight was seeing the deceptively playful antics of two big Russian Grizzlies,as they enjoyed a Summer wrestling match in the pool. Their play especially captured the interest of some school boys who were there the same day we were.

Kindergarten Photographer

Bananz took this photo of me....and she's in kindergarten!

Ice sculpture visit with Hilary & sons

Mizmore (daughter 2) put together a memorable outing for her boys and me this Feb. We headed for downtown St. Paul's ice sculpture display at the Winter Carnival. The " man on motorcycle " caught Matt's attention, along with an icy Farve #4 Vikings jersey. Some of us picked out the "person emerging from manhole" as one of the most unusual/clever ice sculptures we had ever seen. Motivated to get indoors, out of our subzero temps, we crossed the street and went inside the historic Landmark Center in downtown St Paul. There we discovered the user-friendly Schubert music/piano museum which kept us all busy reading, listening, and creating sound combinations of our own doing on electronic keypads. A fun discovery for me was a music box of the genre of one that I have loved, since receiving it as a birthday gift when I turned 13.
