Gingerbread boys and girls

Gingerbread boys and girls, Team 2 Bananz and Meaty took their turns at decorating gingerbread characters this evening. Meaty decorated a Ginger-Worker, inspired by the road construction warriors who wear "yellow worker clothes" with lots of reflective safety striping. Bananz created a very dressy Ariel mermaid with absolutely knockout red hair. The kids stayed focused on their project and it was a fun evening for Nana and me to spend with them. Odds are the tradition will continue until it conflicts with their preparation for the Middle School Science Fair. j/k.

Gingerbread men

Continuing a several-year tradition, some of the grandsons came to the house to decorate gingerbread men. The rest of the Minnesota grandkids will come in a couple of days, because having two ginger sessions worked best for their families. This is the first year that they decorated gingerbread men rather than gingerbread houses, and the results were equally satisfactory. Traditions are important in our family, and we try to respect them as long as they're appropriate and constructive. Nana has taught me well
